Hi Kam and gang! This is my first post. Posted on: 04-26-2007 @ 11:24 pm |

Hi Kam and gang! This is my first post. I have been in tears reading the support you have given each other. Bless you. You all have been used today. Thank you. I was needing it. I dont know anyone with Lyme and I have been trying to keep a good appearance to those around me. Today I am taking off my mask to tell you it is a relief to be with you.
I was thinking I had more than Epstein Barr Virus. Along with the fatigue I had pain frequently. The pain started with the legs and neck, but after a few years it involved my arms, etc. I experienced brain fog, but I forced myself to speak in front of a youth group weekly. As I think back I probably wouldn't change anything I did. I kept involved and working as much as possible.....and YES I have slept even in my jeans at night! (I used to wonder who else is so tired that they sleep in their clothes. I am not alone)!
After 3-4 years of symptoms I couldn't wear my contacts on my eyes anymore. It started hurting the glands in my neck to wear them. My eye Dr. thought I was a bit strange so I didn't go back. My heart was beating so loud at night when I lay down, and I started to experience a slight breathing problem. I ended up with chickenpox at 45 on New Years and because I couldn't recover from the fatigue I was tested for Lyme and diagnosed! I am taking colloidal silver right now and a lot of vitamins. I Herx too much to go on meds at this time.
I live in Wahington State and I have camped, hiked, and traveled, but I am not aware of getting a bite.
The thing that is hard for me right now is keeping my wits when sounds in my head echo, and I have a challenge concentrating. Today I was extremely tired and cancelled out on most of the day. It was a good/bad thing. (I needed to get in a support group). Most of the time I am very cheerful and joyful. People would not know the extremes in my life. I try to remain grateful for all things because I certainly took a lot for granted before. I am a person with faith in God and I have found that God is near to the broken hearted. What ever you are going through I would like to be praying for you. Blessings, Jennifer

Comment By: kam (Posted on 04-27-2007 @ 03:44 pm) Comment: Welcome Jennifer. I am sorry you are struggling too. But, I am glad you finally learned what has attacked the inside of your body.
I also am glad you found this site. There is another site that many of us go to also called www.lymenet.org. Click on flash discussions. You can post different questions you have or just browse other posts and what is working for some.
www.lymelog.com is a good place to record meds or supplements you are taking and give yourself a score on how you are doing with sleep, and other things that I can not recall right now...because I have not been keeping up on it.
Welcome to lyme blog. :) Take care of you. :) |

Comment By: macmcd (Posted on 04-27-2007 @ 03:57 pm) Comment: Gogal, welcome to the group. I know what you mean by, "trying to keep a good appearance". I really had people fooled for a long time. Boy, if they had only known what was going on in my head they would have never gotten in a car with me :).
It sounds like you have ear problems like I do. I hear my own heartbeat in my ear and at times everything echos. It is irritating. I was told once that it is common in Lyme.
As far as sleeping in your cloths, there are a lot of days I don't have to worry about that. I just spend the day in my robe. I don't have the energy to get dressed let alone go any place.
Back when I was working I had an experience where I was supposed to make a presentation too. I made the presentation but then someone asked a question and I had no idea what they were talking about. I suddenly realized I had no idea what I had just said either. Ain't it fun?
I have a friend who runs a support group in Washington State, walyme.org. Try contacting them and say hello to Alexis for me.
I know there will be a lot of people here praying for you as well. You are not alone.

Comment By: Lymielizzie (Posted on 04-28-2007 @ 01:48 pm) Comment: Hi Jennifer, great to have you in the group. Your sure in the right place where you can always be yourself, good bad and ugly. You write about "trying to put on a good appearence" That is SO true! It's a lot of digging deep sometimes. This evening I have to go to my brother in laws 50th birthday party and I already have that awful feeling of dread about it. I do not enjoy partys at all anymore, and there is going to be a band which makes it worse, the loud noise combined with conversating...YIKES! But, I will dig deep, deal with it mask on and know I will be back to the safety, peace and quite of my home in just a few hours. Thanks for your sweet spirit and your prayers! Lizzie

Comment By: macmcd (Posted on 04-28-2007 @ 02:44 pm) Comment: Lizzie, good luck at the party. I still find it hard being at a party or around a large group of people, the noise and the distraction, but it is a lot better now that I have my chair. I find that I can conserve energy easier and, if nescessary, got off by myself without too much trouble.
