Monday, Monday..can't trust that day...oops, it is Sunday! Posted on: 10-08-2006 @ 03:28 pm |
|
It is Sunday but I have the Moody Blues Song Monday, Monday running through my head. Is it the Moody Blues? If not, it should be. HA!
Too many things running through my head. I am hoping for some literary therapy here...meaning....if I type things out perhaps it will help my mood and clear things up for me.
Looking back on the week. The good news is I heard from CALPERS re: industrial income from work. The case is still open. They need my lyme docs records.
I hope to fax the letter to his office Monday along with a note.
I also got some help with sorting through some of the boxes of papers in the office.
I lasted 45 min the first day and 2 hours the second ( I guess..that is at least what the person I am paying to help me said. I have no idea how much time we were at it.)
I recline in my recliner and she hands me a piece of paper and it goes in the trash or the to be filed box or need to get this done stack.
I found things I have been looking for while sorting through the boxes. I am still looking for my good sunglasses to help with light sensitivity.
Melinda came last week and made a pot of vegie soup for me and did the dishes and cleaned the bathroom and vacuumed and cleaned the kitchen floor.
It makes such a big difference to have the house organized and clean for me.
The vegie soup was not good. Not her fault. I will not try that mix again for awhile until I can possibly do it and see if I come up with a soup that is not that good too.
I talked with the counselor that comes and talks to me now and then regarding being here a year and still not being able to do several things.
I put it in writing this time. She has said she would get help for me in the past but it was not followed through on.
I considered stopping the counseling appointments at this appointment because I do not feel I need them anymore.
This is a good thing. I know a year ago the counseling appointments in CA really helped keep my sanity.
Not much counseling going on at either appointment. Just two people sharing about their lives. Both counselors are easy to talk with and I enjoy talking with them as I would a friend.
I did not bring up the subject of stopping the appointments at this time. It didn't seem like the right time to do it.
She made an appointment to have me see their psychiatrist for possible sleep meds.
I have not been sleeping through the night since moving here. I slept fine for the most part in CA.
I also told her I thought I was not sleeping through the night because I am not eating enough during the day. I need help with food prep as I had in CA.
So, she said she had some volunteers that she would contact and send over to help.
She said they will also help me with entering the income and expenses. I have not been able to do this since being off the IV rocephin and Glutathione.
She said they also would help me with the paper work so I do not need to pay someone for it.
Hopefully, it will get done this time. Hopefully, it is not the lady who came with the first counselor I saw with this organization.
That brings me to another topic which I will not go into here. Perhaps it is one for the new ...sorry, can't think of the word....post site for lack of better word.
I also met the owner of the apartment units. HE is from another state. He showed up on my door step wanting to talk about my request to have a washer in the unit.
He came the day after Melinda had been here cleaning up. I am so thankful the apartment was mostly presentable.
As it turned out, we both were not sure what the state inspector had in mind when she suggested to me I request a washer in the unit to help me out.
I like the idea but I am not sure about moving a washer to the sink each time I need to use it and hooking up hoses, etc.
Ah yes. The counselor said she would get someone to help me with laundry too.
There is a pile of laundry along side my bed that is over a month old.
The lady who currently comes to help out with household chores has not been able to keep up with the laundry and either have I.
I either need to get more than two weeks worth of clothes or get help doing the launry and putting it away more often...preferably be able to do it myself.
I don't really wish to purchase more clothes because I do not wish to stay this size. I weigh more now than I ever have and am eating less. I assume it is the lack of exercise or being able to exercise and move the body.
Rest time...again....
This last week....I was able to go to the quilt show for about 30 min. That was good. I went via the senior van and my power chair. I was able to write my name on the raffle tickets for quilts. Last year, I was not able to do this but I think it is more of learning how to deal with this than being better.
My dad takes Rosie to the dog park in the evening. She was attacked by another dog last night.
I was able to give her a good bathing last night and check her over. She was just touchy around the same leg that I and the vet noticed she stiffens up on.
She did have a few clumps of hair wash down the drain which is very unusual for her. She is a poodle and does not shed hair like my lab did.
I figured her hair kept her from getting any skin broke.
My dad is now going to walk her on leash in the evenings around the small lake in town. I know he lets Rosie walk him instead of him walking Rosie.
I hope that goes well. I do not think he will be open to learning from me how to walk Rosie.
I also hope she will not try to walk me when I am on my feet with her. I think we will be OK.
She still needs to be able to get off leash and run like the wind. The morning crowd at the dog park is a group of regualars so we all know the dogs.
I can get her to the dog park in the am but not every morning. I tried that two weeks ago or so. I did it, but I was not able to go the following week at all. So, I need to possibly go every other day and see if that works.
I really enjoy it. I would prefer to go every day but not yet....in time.
I also have to move to a more quiet area of the park if there is a person there that talks non stop. Even if what they are saying is interesting, it takes too much out of me.
And I am not able to keep a good eye on Rosie. I need to do this. Her safety comes first and the safety of other dogs. I have seen her attack another dog at a friends house when I first got her.
There was a dog at the dog park today that had bitten a guy in his groan area and drew blood.
They determined it was the ball the guy was holding in his hand near his groin area that the dog was after.
He really didn't mean to draw blood.
But, this dog was after the ball again when another dog owner was playing ball with his dog.
The owner did not intervene until one of the other dog owners stepped in. The guy throwing the ball had no idea what danger he was in of loosing his own balls. HA!
Ok That is all I can recall for this past week.
Things I uncovered with the paper work that is overwhelming right now:
1. The student loan deferrment form was about 3 months over do and the wrong form. I need to include a letter explaining the situation.
2. I need to contact workmen's comp. It has been a year since the last hearing and they took things off record. I need to see what the next step is and possibly find an attorney that will get me approved. This has been going on for 5 years now.
Break time...
My brain is telling me I just need to shut it down for now. I may be back later.
