I find that it's hard to get motivated to exercise when it hurts to do everything. The neuralgia, neuropathy, and joint pain let's not mention the fatigue how exhausted you feel before and after you do something. Went went for a walk/run today about 2.7miles. As I ran I could feel the burning shoot into my foot with every step onto my left foot. It hurts. The joints alternate knee, ankle, metatarsals. I take breaks walk when it gets bad try to talk myself up to try to run again. My left leg went numb from the knee down, almost felt like I needed to shake it out. I know it's good for me, but it's like the Lyme is just trying to dare you; don't do it, you can't, you won't do it. This disease breaks you down to nothing, you question everything. Am I crazy? Are the symptoms real? Is it really that hard to get myself to move? With each step I tell myself to breathe, keep moving, you're stronger than that. I might feel broken, but to be broken means to sit down again and give up. I'm fighting today. Fight with me. |

Comment: You are not crazy. It takes a while for the correct antibiotic treatment to take effect and even then one does not get the dramatic effects we would like to see.We really do have to push ourselves harder than other people to accomplish the same goals. Exercising is important but everything is relative. You may not be able to do the things you used to. We sometimes have to set the bar lower. What is a big jump for a Lymie may seem rather unremarkable for most people. Just keep doing a little something each day. Good luck. |

Comment: I feel for what you are going through. My daughter who is 12 has been doing this for 3 years. It is hard because various muscles and joints bother her. Sometimes it hurts to much to walk or use her arm. It is hard because she is just a kid and does not want to feel left out. I am constantly online and researching and trying to see how many people are getting better. It is hard, but hang in there. I made a video about my daughter and posted it on youtube. Lyme patients need to spread awareness to make others aware that chronic lyme exists and more needs to be done to cure this horrible disease before it cripples more people. http://youtu.be/hG7-8VU7NmU |
