First off, I'd just like to thank my fiance and mother for being rock solid for me every day during this emotional roller-coaster. They both came with me to my appointment and both were on board with starting treatment with Dr. Beals. I took my first dose of antibiotic yesterday and given that I've had an anaphylactic reaction before, I was perhaps a bit overly paranoid. I'd say I felt itchy and started freaking out. My fiance (even though I'm a nurse all rationality goes out the window when it comes to my health) called blue cross blue shield health line just to find out what the nurse on the phone thought. We'd do rash checks every time I got up. Turns out I'm not allergic to minocycline. :PToday my nerves and muscles were bothering me more than usual. My muscles were sore, joints aching when I walk especially up and down the stairs at the hospital just pain into your bones and joints. My muscles feel twitchy and my nerves, when I touch something it feels even more distant than before. How I long to be able to touch things again and to have my body know that I'm touching it right away. I feel tired, very tired today, it was hard to help the other nurses, but I did anyway. I'm wondering if it's the start of my Herx reaction, my body starting to kill the bacteria and the toxins causing the extreme symptoms. This one is supposed to be the worst, so let's get through this and move forward. Now I'm home and my honey made me a healthy meal that complies with my "Lyme diet", could I have found a better one? :) |
