Let me just start by saying that this is one of the most unbelievable things I could have imagined in my entire life. I have lost EVERYTHING as a result of Lyme Disease. Not only was I never told by a single person what can happen to you if you get bit by a lousy tick, but I had no idea about the conspiracies and medical controversy I was eventually plunged into. Anything and everything I have ever worked for in my life was completely and totally for nothing. I don't really care about all of this stuff about how there is no money in researching lyme because not enough people get it, about this controversy regarding whether chronic lyme exists, or what any ignorant doctor says about how you "should" be feeling. I AM A HUMAN BEING. I am appalled when I see a friggin commercial for cancer every 5 minutes on television, yet not one damn word is uttered by anyone on any television channel or in the general public about Lyme Disease. Most days I just want to die, and on the days that I don't I try to figure out how I am going to deal with hundreds of symptoms for the rest of my life. This whole thing is so out of control and ridiculous that it make me want to wring someone's neck. I will never have a life again and what is even more comforting about knowing that is knowing that no one in the medical community is even trying to help. FML. |

Comment: I hear you and understand your frustration, anger and fear. I have been battling lyme for 11 years this month (March). I never dreamed I would still be knee deep in the battle 11 years later! Your right not much on the news about lyme disease. However, the one light at the end of the tunnel is that LLMDs are now teaching other physicians about the daunting-complex realities of lyme disease as well as the best treatment options and best tests. Its a slow process getting Drs to actually want to be educated about lyme but its happening and there are now LLMDS (Lyme literate Medical Drs) in every state.
