Can someone please explain to me . . . Posted on: 08-14-2011 @ 01:04 pm |
|
|
This past week I watched Under Our Skin with two lawyers. They both asked me the same question:
"How come there is no class action lawsuite against the IDSA, the insurance companies, and the doctors involved?"
Does anyone know the answer to this? I sure don't.

Comment By: emmers (Posted on 05-31-2012 @ 09:22 am) Comment: I wish I had the answer, but I don't. I watched it for the first time last night, amazing movie. To think some people of the audacity to profit from our suffering and call us crazy. Some states have made it legal for doctors to treat Lyme with long term antibiotic recognizing that if symptoms get better after a proven diagnosis of Lyme that it's okay and insurance should cover it. http://lymepedia.org/connecticut-lyme-disease-law/
Hopefully one day we'll get where we need to be. Us victims need to raise awareness of Lyme. |

it seems it would break the glass ceiling if we could do a class action. |

Comment By: shadow (Posted on 08-15-2011 @ 11:44 am) Comment: One of these two is my brother who is in law school. He said the challenge is to find a lawyer that will do it for free, and then take a cut of whatever is won, so lawyers will only take it if they feel there's a big, fat chance of winning, and winning big. He said he'll talk to some of the people he knows in Sacramento where he goes to law school and see if there are any leads. |

Comment By: kam (Posted on 08-18-2011 @ 08:25 am) Comment: I was told at one time that you can not sue for ignorance by a lawyer who repressented insurance companies.
I had called the office not knowing they were on the insurance team. |

Did any of the lawyers feel it would be worth time and money to sue the a-holes on the IDSA board?

Comment By: javajoust (Posted on 07-28-2012 @ 03:44 pm) Comment: What if instead of going nose-to-nose with those we have legally delegated all our personal rights to over the past two hundred years, what if we start our own covert operation to train a group of lyme victims to self-treat human lyme disease and undermine the current objectives of non-treatment. ...just throwing it out on the table... Seems that if common folks can be industrious enough to manufacture drugs like meth and lsd in their kitchen, how much more difficult could it be to make antibiotics? Probably not one of my intelligent thoughts, I don't have many since '97. |
