Have any of you had this happen? Posted on: 07-13-2011 @ 12:07 am |

|
Before we left for vacation I have honestly been doing great. So great, that I questioned all that I have been through in the past. So, we went on vacation and the very day that we came back I felt horrible! My joints hurt, deep nerve pain down my legs to my feet and down my arms to my hands. My lower back hurt.
Have any you had this experience? What causes this?

Comment By: emmers (Posted on 06-02-2012 @ 12:06 pm) Comment: I think it's important to remember what each of us ask God. I love that comment that said if He gave her just one good day she'd take the bad ones with grace. That's a conversation that I think I need to have. I pray every day that my body will use my antibiotics and supplements to heal, that God will help my body fight the infection and eliminate it from my body. I think the sun exposure and stress of coming back resuming the daily life, continuing treatment, etc all contributed. I hope that you feel better and the symptoms decrease. Take the good memories that you made and use them for inspiration on your bad days. |

Comment By: dixie (Posted on 03-20-2012 @ 06:28 pm) Comment: I have been trying to recover from Lymes for 2 years now, I was very athletic before I started coming down with multiple symptoms that my internist could not figure out. I finally got diagnoised 9 months later and went to a LLD where I have been on a number of different antibiotics. While it is hard for me to see, I feel better now than 2 years agp and when I feel better I think that I can see a glimpse of my life that was it was before. I have had days that I feel absoutely amazing and when those days come I can hardly remember feeling bad. Then out of nowhere I feel bad, numbness, weakness, moves from limb to limb, I get so despreately unhappy as I feel that I can only live day to day. On days that I feel good I thank God and the friends family and docs that help me and only hope for that day that I will always feel good. On days that I feel bad I am not sure what to do. I get short with my husband and kids, I don't want to do anything and I feel like there is really no one to talk to about this becasue the roller coaster of recovery is so unpredictable. Honestly, its like living like a manic Depressive where my entire world depends on how I feel.Anyway, I have never written in any blogs before but I just feel like talking to others out there that feel like me and those who can give me the strenght and positive energy to keep me moving forward. |

Comment By: lymielizzie (Posted on 07-13-2011 @ 12:22 am) Comment: At least you felt good during the vaca. Thats the positive here.
I feel awful during vacations and am afraid to go anywhere.
Vacations can be so stressful!
Planning, packing. Anticipating.
Airports are stressful.
Did you fly in a plane? Supposedly it can trigger a herx.
Long car drives can be stressful.
Car and jet lag can trigger stress and symptoms.
Camping can be stressful.
High altitudes can trigger herx reaction.
Over exertion.
Coming home All the laundry you have to do, putting things away.
A little vaca stress can trigger symptoms.
Hope you feel better soon!

Comment By: kam (Posted on 07-13-2011 @ 08:29 am) Comment: Glad you were doing better and enjoyed your vacation. Hoping you will recover soon.
Haven't experienced this as not up to the level you are yet. But, I do get post exertional malaise.
It must be so disappointing to be doing well and then have a set back. Hang in there.
Hoping it is a short set back and you don't need to go back to the lyme doc. |

Comment By: map (Posted on 07-13-2011 @ 11:08 am) Comment: If I take hot epsom salt baths and go to bed early it seems to help theese symptoms fade. I don't understand, but am so thankful I am at this point with Lyme disease to have some relief. I told God once, in the thick of it all, that if he gave me one good day I would be so thankful and would endure the bad days with more grace. Thankfully, He has been so much more gracious to me than to give me just one good day. So I suppose that stress levels induce theese symptoms? It could make sense, I have been dealing with alot in my mind. |

Comment By: lymielizzie (Posted on 07-13-2011 @ 12:44 pm) Comment: Going to bed early can make a huge difference in the kind of day your going to have. It sure does me!
I know a lot of people with lyme enjoy staying up late because they feel better at night. Which makes sense because the sun light and heat can effect us.
I hope God gives you many more good days map!

Comment By: gogirl (Posted on 07-13-2011 @ 01:17 pm) Comment: Yep! Dealing with the same thing you are talking about.
I even went Kayaking on my trip. I wonder if getting to much sun was part of the problem, too? I've been dealing with a lot more mental stuff since coming home 3 weeks ago. That is the most challenging!
Thank you for reminding me to focus on what God has given instead of what is taken away.
I will remember to praise Him in it all.

Comment By: map (Posted on 07-13-2011 @ 11:28 pm) Comment: I think you could be right about the sun exposure. I use to live in FL. and was so sick there. I moved north and havent seen the sun and have made great progress. Humm.... I think I will keep this in mind just to keep a mental note of this experiance for me.
